Trading Overseas
Following Joanne Baldwin’s trip to Chicago in March 2008, organised by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce International Team, in conjunction with UKTI, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and the British American Business Council (BABC), the firm attended the 2nd UK annual conference of 2020 International on 4th June.
2020 International is a network of accountancy firms worldwide and currently has member firms in the USA, Canada, South America, South Africa, Nigeria, Hong Kong and Belgium. The network was only established last year and has grown significantly in this short time and has plans for further expansion in the forthcoming year. Nicklin LLP are 1 of only 14 member firms in the UK with a further 3 firms in Ireland.
The conference involved reviewing the progress made in the first year of existence of the network and agreeing plans for future growth. Chris Cook and Joanne Baldwin attended the meeting on behalf of Nicklin LLP and were involved particularly in discussing areas in which our clients are looking to do business and in formulating a strategy for the group over the forthcoming year. The group agreed on a number of countries to target in this forthcoming year including Australia, China, India and Dubai.
