Guidance issued on building fund bids

New information has been issued to academies wishing to submit bids for the latest round of the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund (ACMF).

The Education Funding Agency published the information online for academies seeking to apply to round 2 of the ACMF for the 2014 to 2015 financial year.

Round 2 is for academies that opened after 2 December 2013 and schools with an academy order that are due to open on or before 1 October 2014.

Eligible academies will be able to apply for one project up to £500,000 to tackle building condition issues.

An online application portal was due to be open by 13 June and the deadline for submission is 21 July 2014.

Academies planning to make applications to the ACMF may wish to seek additional expertise in working up their project and strengthening their application, for example in carrying out an options appraisal that includes assessing the costs and value for money of each of the options identified.
