Congratulations to Helen Harper for receiving a prestigious invitation to Buckingham Palace on 19th May 2023 to celebrate her achievement. Helen received her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award earlier this year. The D of E gold programme consists of five main sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, an Expedition and a Residential. To fulfil the volunteering component, Helen dedicated her time to working with a local Girlguide group, where she not only contributed to the community but also earned her leadership qualification. The expedition, which took place in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic, consisted of a training week in the picturesque Lake District followed by the final expedition.
