Last month, Nicklin LLP, were proud, to support local students taking part in the West Midlands Company of the Year showcase, organised by Young Enterprise.
Within the Young Enterprise Company Programme, young people set up and ran a student company. Students made all of the decisions about their business, from deciding the company name, managing the company finances and selling to the public. This enabled them to gain practical business skills. The programme hopes to inspire young people to become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow, and provide them with the opportunity to develop practical business skills before entering the workplace.
This year, Nicklin’s sponsored the Customer Service award, which was won by “Connect Lingo”, who had designed a language product to help non-English speaking students. The winning company demonstrated a clear sales process: effectively and consistently recording sales, fulfilling customer orders, and following up on customer queries. In addition, the team, developed a Braille version for the visually impaired, to make their product fully inclusive.
Mark Howell, Managing Partner of Nicklin LLP, who attended the Awards Evening to present the award said: “We are delighted to have sponsored this award and supported Young Enterprise for a second year. The commitment and enthusiasm of participating students was fantastic to see”
He added: “At Nicklin LLP we work closely with our local community and understand the importance of supporting Young Enterprise and other initiatives, which provide an opportunity to develop the workforce of the future.”
