Operation Santa aims to beat record

Halesowen-based chartered accountancy firm Nicklin LLP is once again supporting Operation Santa; an appeal run by Dudley Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) and Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

They are appealing for donations to send to youngsters from less privileged backgrounds that would otherwise go without Christmas presents.

Last year’s appeal was the most successful ever with over 12,000 donations. Not only did Operation Santa provide toys, gifts and Christmas food, but it also used some of the money donated to pay for Christmas parties at local voluntary and community groups.

Managing partner Harvey Owen said: “We would like to ask if you would join us here at Nicklins and contribute a gift to help towards this amazing cause.

“As a firm, we remain committed to doing our bit to support our local community. Receiving Christmas presents is something that many of us take for granted, but unfortunately there are still many families who will not be able to afford presents for their children, so we hope that your donations will put smiles on the faces of children who otherwise would not have anything. Last year’s appeal was the most successful, but we want to smash that record and help even more people this year.”

Dudley CVS also works in partnership with Black Country Foodbank and welcomes any food or clothing items that can be used to help make Christmas more special for families who are struggling.

You can leave your unwrapped donated items such as books, games, stationery, toiletries and toys, as well as non-perishable food items, at Nicklin LLP, Church Court, Stourbridge Road, Halesowen, B63 3TT before Tuesday 8 December.
