Position within firm – Accounts Executive
What do you do?
I work in the small business section at Nicklin’s. This is primarily Micro entity companies, partnerships and sole traders. I deal with everything that is accounts, VAT, and tax related.
What do you enjoy most about your job/ what motivates you to get up in the morning?
I enjoy helping people. Giving clients advice and guidance with their business is satisfying.
I am fascinated how people make a living outside the status quo of employment. In our section, there are plenty of opportunities to meet a variety of clients and gain an insight into their lives.
What projects do you work on?
Outside of the day-to-day operations, I have worked on various tax and VAT enquiries for clients. It is an interesting process seeing how HMRC work!
What is on top of your bucket list?
I’d like to live self-sufficiently like Tom and Barbara from The Good Life. I’ve become a lot less materialistic with age and crave a simple life.
