G.W. Interiors Limited has been refitting and refurbishing the interiors of commercial and leisure properties for over 30 years. With a diverse client list, they handle nationwide projects for occupiers, property companies, developers and surveyors.
When undertaking a refurbishment, G.W. Interiors pride themselves on delivering “a solution that matches in every detail the opportunity, timescale and budget” of the client. Similar compatibility in the relationship between a business and its audit fi rm can’t be underestimated.
Despite many years of good service from KPMG, Company Secretary Nigel Stovell was looking for a smaller organisation that could offer a more personal service. “KPMG were proving too expensive for us at the end of the day,” he explains, “only a small audit practice can provide an efficient and friendly service to medium fi rms like ourselves.”
Chairman Geoff Wall heard about Nicklin through an association with another company in the same field. When the accountants talked to G.W. Interiors, the company was happy with the “price they gave us and the service offered us”. Nicklin now takes care of the annual audit and provides tax advice.
The group also had a desire to reorganise their affairs to enable them to offer an equity holding in their trading company. Nicklin was able to put forward the prospective arrangement, obtain HMRC approval and work with the company’s lawyers to see the transaction through to its satisfactory conclusion.
We find them “amenable, friendly and efficient, and they have also offered a number of tax saving opportunities because they have time for us,” Nigel concluded.
